Weekly Photo Challenge: Through

Photo of the Day

March 27, 2012

Today’s post veers off real estate to settle back into photography. A photo challenge is designed to provide a theme for creative inspiration. This week’s theme is about framing a shot through something else. Here’s my post for this week’s photo challenge.

This horse was having his evening meal, happily munching on the grass. He kept an eye on me as I came up to the fence and took pictures. He looked up at me and stopped eating the grass long enough for me to snap this pic. I think I heard him say, “Yeah, I ought to be in pictures”.

Horse and Home

Photos of the Day
August 26, 2011

Yesterday I went out to photograph my friend with her horses. The top photo shows two of her horses. I rode the lighter, chestnut-colored horse on the right  The second picture is of horses that visited us at the fence line when we came by with my friend’s horses. Such beautiful animals. Here’s part of a Navaho prayer and night chant that seems to fit these animals and our afternoon:

With beauty may I walk.
With beauty before me, may I walk.
With beauty behind me, may I walk.
With beauty above me, may I walk.
With beauty below me, may, I walk.
With beauty all around me, may I walk.

A beautifully created wooden carousel horse strikes an energetic pose in this window.

What’s in your house?

Do your possessions spark conversation, stir creativity, beget imagination, inspire you?

Are you a lover of antiques or must everything be new?

What sort of people are the owners of this carousel horse?
