Weekly Photo Challenge: Solitary
“I believe that reading, in its original essence, is that fruitful miracle of a communication in the midst of solitude.” –Marcel Proust

This week’s photo challenge is “Solitary”. If you already spend time alone, you may know some of the benefits: relaxation, heightened self-awareness, focus and concentration, increased self-reliance and self-confidence, freedom, spirituality, creative thinking, problem solving skill building, and other benefits. Here are a few articles on the topic of solitude:
The Surprising Benefits of Solitude, by Andrew McAfee
This article (above) in particular was interesting to me relative to the subject of brainstorming sessions, focus groups and group interviews.
The Lost Art of Solitude, by Leo Babauta
The Power of Lonely, By Leon Neyfakh

Perfect example of desired solitary…a good book. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thanks for reading and commenting. I agree–a good book is a wonderful way to enjoy solitary time. Have you read anything good lately?
Haven’t had much time to read lately. Started reading Life of Pi but had to put it down. Want to finish it though. Good book. Thanks! 🙂
As there hasn’t been a new WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge so far this week, perhaps you’d like to join in the Weekly Travel Theme http://wheresmybackpack.com/2012/09/28/travel-theme-foliage/ xxx Ailsa
Thanks, Ailsa! I just posted one. We have beautiful fall colors right now so this was a great idea for a photo challenge this week.
Hurray, welcome to the travel theme weekly challenge, Kate 🙂
